In traditional musical, music is composed based on a story. But, in Mamma Mia, the story was created based on songs. It is a romantic comedy developed along with 22 hit songs of 70fs pop rock group, ABBA.

The story sets in a small Island in Greece.
A single mother, Donna, who owns a bar and a hotel, and her daughter, Sophie are the main characters. Sophie, who is about to be married, wants to find her unknown father. But her secret plan to find her father confronts mother to her past.

Bjorn, a member of ABBA, even commented all songs are almost written for this musical. Indeed the highlight of this musical is that songs and story is perfect match.

Mamma Mia blends audiences into the stage and creates the fun of a live concert atmosphere. Mamma Mia blends audience into the stage and creates an atmosphere of a live concert. This is a kind of musical makes you want to dance.

My score is four stars.
