It is based on 1912 adventure novel “Tarzan of the Apes,” by Edgar Rice Buroughs. But jungle’s villain, the panther, attacks a couple.An infant is left alone.A mother gorilla, Kala, who just lost a baby, comes by. Despite husband’s objection, Kala adopts human infant and names “Tarzan.” Tarzan suffers for his differences from others while growing up. One day, humans, who look exactly like Tarzan, come to jungle. The highlight is aerial performance.Music is by Phil Collins, same as the animation.
Tarzan is the fourth Broadway musical by Disney production. It is the third adopted work from animation, since “Beauty and the Beast,” and “The Lion King. ”Beauty and the Beast recreates colorful fairly-tale animation world on stage. The Lion King elevates artistic level and creates new images of animation. Each one is a superb production.
