This is one of the largest Roman Catholic Church in the United States. Constructions took over 20 years, from 1853 to 1879, because of interruption by the Civil War. The church building is designed with Gothic style and 330 feet(100 meters) high. The front bronze door weighs over 2,200 pounds(one ton), and a chapel is surrounded with beautiful stained-glass windows and seated with 2,400 worshipers.
