Union Square

The Union Square was originally a stopover point for 19th century travellers heading to the state capital, Albany . Three statues surround the park : George Washington (south), Abraham Lincoln (north), and Lafayette (east), the latter of which was sculpted by the Statute of Liberty es sculptor, Bartholdi. Today the park is quite popular for its year-round Green Market on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
