Greenwich Village
|
| Greenwich Village was established as an escape from a Cholera epidemic in the early 1800's. Many writers, poets and artists, famous and not famous, have lived and worked there; they include Eugene OfNeil and musicians Bob Dylan and Simon and Garfunkel. Many of the original buildings still exist, giving the area charm. Washington Square Park is the center of the Village, New York University, located on the south side of the Park, has led Village culture over the years. |
